Hello! My name is Jacob Ruggles and I, like many of you, have always been fascinated by aviation and dreamed of flying. After my time in the Navy on submarines, I decided to make the leap from hundreds of feet below MSL to thousands of feet above MSL. With the support of my amazing wife, I made the leap and went to a part 141 school and received my PPL with IFR, Commercial Single/Multi, CFI, CFII, and MEI ratings. After, I realized how stranded I, and many of my fellow graduates, were. Left with a ton of hours to complete, and not many companies looking for low hour pilots, the “best” option was CFI. Looking into it, I saw that time building programs were asking very high prices for very little added time. My goal with Downwind Aviation, is to change that, and help others reach their goals!
